I come to you all with a lot on my heart today. The Collier family have been members of our church for some time. They are really a beautiful family. Garrett, the husband of Sophia and father of three wonderful children, and a humble man. He has a great love of God and has a passion for evangelism. Their children are home schooled and excel at their classes. Lat weak their youngest child began complaining of headaches and starting acting different and he was taken to the hospital. He has already had several surgeries to relieve the pressure on his brain and he has also had a shunt placed.
Long story short he was found to have a AV malformation that ruptured in his brain. He is currently sedated and on the ventilator. He has now acquired Propofol Infusion Syndrome which is rare and can be deadly. They have been changing his meds around and we are hoping for no other organ damage. This family is looking at a long and expensive road to recovery. There has been a Go Fund Me page set up to help with the medical expenses and I will attach the link to this blog. They are currently in ICU at University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital room 437. Garrett and Sophia are taking four hour shifts sleeping so someone can be awake at the bedside at all times.
For those of you that believe in the power of prayer, please pray, and pray hard. God is the Great Physician and all things can be done through Him.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16 NIV)
Dear God, we lift up Aramis to you Lord. He is in desperate need of your healing hands. Lord we know you are the Great Physician; You have made the blind to see, the lame to walk, and the mute to speak. Lord we know it is not for us to ask why, we could never understand your timing and reasons. It is for us to walk on the Faith that you are with us in times of trouble and fear of the unknown and that you will protect us and that all things will somehow glorify your name. God be there for this family as they may face many uncertainties and may have to make many hard decisions. Give them peace, comfort and understanding Lord that only you can provide. Lord be with the many earthly physicians, nurses, and all others that will be in charge of his care. Lord we ask that you just work through them. Lord most of all we just ask that Your will be done because we know that somehow at the end of all this your name will be glorified. For this we pray in the name of your Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
