No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)
Compared to God, humans are weak creatures. God in His infinite wisdom created us in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). God gave us free will to choose the path that we want to travel. Why? Any other way God would be forcing His will upon us and that is not what God wants. God’s plan is that we choose Him and seek to follow him. To bring this into more applicable terms let me use an example. A young and immature Christian is no different than a young child. For those of you that have/had children will understand. Children have a mind that is all their own, and without some guidance, they would be in some horrible trouble. We always give our children a little leeway so that they can explore the world around them. As young, immature Christians, they want to explore their new world also. God’s word (The Bible) is the believer’s guidance. God will primarily talk to us through the Bible; we must learn how to listen. An important step is to talk to God (pray) before opening your Bible. Ok, back on point. As humans, you can be sure that temptation will come; in many forms. Let your minds wander, and you can find the temptation in your life. Now the question I hear so often is ”How can God let bad things happen to good people.” My answer to that is that if you believe in God and that God is good, you must believe that Satan is real and is pure evil. We must remember that Satan is real and is here to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). Like the verse above says, God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. And when you are tempted God will provide a way out, if you look for it (trust in God). So to sum up this blog, Pray before Bible study and God will lead you to your answer. Prayer and Bible study are essential steps to finding your guidance through this world. They will also prepare you to meet temptation head on. Now I must also warn you that you will not always win over your temptations, but remember that you will learn ways to be better prepared for the next time. Do not give up, lean on God for support. God’s love is never ending and always supportive. As always if you have any questions, concerns, or comments feel free to comment on this blog. For those that I know, please call, text, email, or visit me. I Love to see people come to Christ and would love to guide you there.
