Something to Ponder

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13 NIV)

Good morning all. I came across this verse this morning and thought I would share it. Chances are that this will be much shorter than most of my posts, but, I felt that this passage was important and needed to be shared.

The Word of God is alive and active!!! Just what do I mean by the word of God? The Bible is the word of God. How so ? Wasn’t the Bible written by mans hand? Even though there were many authors that contributed to the Bible, each and every word was INSPIRED by God. This passage tells us just how powerful the word of God is. There is power in the Word and we must learn to lean on that power.

For verse 13, this makes me think of all the things that I have done. The thing to remember is that there was only ever one perfect and sinless person to walk this Earth and that was Jesus. Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden sin has been part of mankind’s life and perfection is not expected of us.

The moral of this passage: Learn to trust in God and lean on the power in the word of God. Your not expected to be perfect, but be the best that you can be. Love one another as Jesus loves us and forgive others as Christ has forgiven us. You are loved and forgiven as a child of God. Let verse 13 dictate your actions. Don’t do something that would embarrass you in the eyes of God.

God Bless,

Chaplain Howie
