There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1 NKJV).

Hello everyone. I do realize it has been a day or two since my last blog post. School has kept me busy and I have been off work sick. They think I am about healed up and hope to be back to work next week.

I had a class in Romans last semester and I must say that while it is an interesting book it is also complex. Paul teaches doctrines on Justification and Sanctification and ties the Old Testament with the New Testament. It is truly an interesting read. I would suggest finding a quiet spot and read it all the way through just to get a grasp of the depth of the Book of Romans and then go back and do a study from chapter to chapter.

What this verse says to me: I am FREE !!! Free from the bondage of sin. We all sin and we will be sinners until the day we meet Jesus face to face. Even the great evangelist Billy Graham was still a sinner. He just knew who to turn to and when to turn to God. The Holy Spirit is a gift given to us by God and that Spirit indwells in our hearts. It is that Spirit that tells us when we have done wrong and need to repent.

You know that the devil is the enemy. The words of Jesus tell us:

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Jesus] have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10 NKJV).

Ole Satan wants to hold you in that bondage and with the little lies that he will whisper in your ear, we will keep ourselves behind Prison doors. Guilt, pain, and shame will keep us in our own little prison. I know because I have built the walls of my prison, one brick at a time until I thought that there was no way over the walls.

Christ opened those doors and tore down those walls. We just need to have faith that he is the Christ, hung from the cross and risen on the third day. All for me and for you.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8 NKJV).

being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:24-26 NKJV).

We are free and Satan tells nothing but lies. Christ is the one and only Risen Savior. He is the only way to the Promised Land; Heaven. Accept Him today.

Blessings,

Chaplain Howie
